Update: That was the world of video games today for 3rd September. A full transcript of everything that occurred is available below to nibble on at your leisure.
Stop banging on about Silksong, Bertie. But it’s weird, isn’t it, when a game you’ve wondered about the existence for, for a long time, is finally within touching distance, finally nearly here. It’s just a game, it’s not a magical object, and yet it feels more than a game too. The hype bubble fascinates me.
But enough of that! It’s 3rd September and we’re back with another daily roundup and chat-a-long of all of today’s gaming news. Let’s get it, as American people say in YouTube workout videos.
Our live coverage of this event has finished.

Good morning, good morning. Apologies for the brief site outage. It’s Silksong’s fault. (It’s not really Silksong’s fault. Or is it?)

Why is there a Love is Blind article on the site?
Image credit: Netflix Allow me to start your day by talking about Love is Blind. And I know: it’s not what you expect when you come to Eurogamer. How edgy – edgy? – of us to write about it. But hear me out; there’s a valid reason why I’m writing about Love is Blind on Eurogamer. A small thought turned into a bigger thought turned into a piece. A piece about representation. A piece about how gaming is represented in the media.
I never expected Love is Blind to make me feel good about video games in 2025, but here we are Robert Purchese 10:49 am UTC
Perfect Dark was almost saved by Take-Two
Image credit: The Initiative The reboot of Perfect Dark was reportedly almost saved from cancellation by Take-Two.
Alas, it wasn’t to be, though. Reportedly, talks collapsed following “disagreements over long-term ownership” of franchise

Nintendo Switch Online getting cult classic 3D N64 shooter tomorrow
Image credit: Nintendo Forsaken 64, which first released on Nintendo 64 all the way back in 1998, is coming to Nintendo Switch Online on 4th September.
The game will be added to the Mature section of the app. It joins the likes of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Perfect Dark for those members aged 17 and up.

MarcusJ says: Phew. The site’s back. I was starting to think I was going to have to send today’s bon mots in on a postcard or the back of a sealed down envelope.
Hope all’s well over there.
We ought to have a PO Box address really! There’s nothing like bags of mail. Not that we’d get bags of mail, unless we ran a competition whereby you could win a prize if you drew a picture and sent it to Eurogamer. Then again, I’m not sure we’d want to run a competition where you could draw any picture and send it to Eurogamer. Who knows what we’d be sent!
(I think everyone knows what we’d be sent.)

themightyant says: Also who or what is “love is blind”?
Look. Don’t pre-judge it okay. It’s better than it sounds.

Blue Prince is getting a physical PS5 release
Image credit: iam8bit If you, like me, became rather enamoured with Blue Prince on its release earlier this year, and also happen to be fond of physical media, I have good news – developer Dogubomb along with iam8bit have announced the Blue Prince physical collection.
This collection includes a PS5 physical edition of the game, as well as pins, a notebook, The Red Prince children’s book and more. Interested? You can find more info and preorder via iam8bit.

Kingdom Hearts' missing mobile lore lot turns ten
Image credit: Square Enix / Disney Just a small gaming anniversary of sorts today – the main version of Kingdom Hearts χ is ten today, having first hit Japanese Android and iOS back in 2015. About six months later it arrived in the West. There was a Japan-only web browser release a little earlier, though.
This name stuff is confusing, as this game has more aliases than Prince – it went as Kingdom Hearts χ, Kingdom Hearts χ[chi], Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], and Kingdom Hearts Union χ Dark Road. Hope you’ve got all that!
The game forms a fairly important part of Kingdom Hearts lore, but it only lasted for around six years, ending service in 2021. It was later converted into an offline game, and then last year got delisted completely. Some of its story survives in various forms across other KH releases – but it’s another sort of ‘lost media’ in a sense. Did you play it?
